-Merriam-Webster

In our pursuit of self-mastery, we often think that there is something missing, deficient, or broken within us that needs to be fixed. We then go about acquiring new skills, obtaining more degrees, certificates and credentials in hopes of rectifying that part of us we believe is incomplete.  We convince ourselves that, "if I read one more book, attend one more seminar, or take one more course, then I'll have the answers I need." I've gone down this rabbit hole more times than I care to admit. I have a library full of self-help books that all claim to have the "secrets" to success and happiness. Despite my best efforts, I still haven't found the secret.

I've come to believe that there are no secrets; only things we haven't yet discovered about ourselves and our chosen path. For me the discovery was a subtractive process- removing what was inessential and no longer serving me to reveal the "secret" that was hidden in plain site. In essence, I had to reset or begin anew to realize that nothing in me was broken, or deficient.

In my recent podcast interview with Jacob Nawrocki of Operation Self Reset, I talk about my journey of self-discovery and what it means to "reset". Jacob is a life coach whose enthusiasm and passion for self-development is contagious. You can hear it in his voice and in the insightful questions he asks. Jacob isn't just motivational, he's actionable! Through his site, he provides practical advice that you can apply to reset yourself. I'd like to thank Jacob for giving me the opportunity to appear on his podcast. I hope you all enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it.

After you listen to the interview, take a moment to reflect and ask yourself, "How can I reset? What I am I holding on to that is no longer serving me? What am I unwilling to accept and embrace about myself that may be the very "secret" that I've been looking for?"
